Immersion to IR

On Tuesday, September 18th, the IRC had the pleasure of hearing from His Excellency Joško Paro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia to the United States of America and Ms. Linda Robinson, Adjunct Senior Fellow for U.S. National Security and Foreign Policy. Geared towards new members and exclusive to the IRC, this semi-formal event served the settle the inevitable confusion that results from moving to Georgetown and hearing fellow IRCers talk so confidently about complex issues of foreign policy. Each of the two prestigious speakers sought to introduce a hot topic of international relations: Ambassador Paro discussed the European financial crisis, and Ms. Robinson talked about the situation in the Middle East. Following their speeches, students had the unique opportunity to actually meet the speakers and ask them individualized questions in an extended meet-and-greet.
